The Fruška Gora weekend loop, done properly

Ivana Marić · 28 Jul 2026

Two hundred kilometres of monastery roads, vineyard switchbacks and one climb that rewards a car with torque. Here is the route we give customers.

Fruška Gora is the reason half our SUV bookings exist. It is forty minutes from the Novi Sad garage, and the loop below takes a full Saturday at a civilised pace or a fast morning if you leave at seven.

Start at Sremski Karlovci. Coffee on the square, then the road toward Stražilovo — narrow, shaded, and the first place the Defender's low-speed torque earns its keep. From there the ridge road runs west with genuinely good sightlines.

Stop at Krušedol monastery. It is free, it is quiet before ten, and the car park is gravel — which is our polite way of saying do not take the F8.

Descend to Irig for lunch, then climb again toward Iriški Venac. This is the stretch people remember: constant radius corners, good surface, and enough elevation change to make an electric car's regeneration feel clever.

Come back along the Danube through Beočin. If you have the Model 3, there is a charger in Beočin that nobody uses, and you will arrive back in Novi Sad with more range than you expected.
